First, we believe that small groups are biblical. In Acts 2:46-47 the early believers met both in the temple courts and in homes. We believe that just as it is vital to gather corporately for worship, it is also necessary to gather in small groups for prayer, fellowship, accountability, encouragement, worship, study, and outreach.
Second, we believe home teams are a very accessible small group setting. With the flexibility to meet throughout the week, home teams can fit almost anyone’s schedule. Not only that, home teams provide a welcoming, relaxed, casual atmosphere where newcomers and members can feel equally ‘at home.’
Finally, we believe that home teams allow us to be better stewards of God’s resources. When classroom space is not a financial concern, more resources are available for ministry. Building classroom space to be used once a week seems wasteful when there are perfectly usable living rooms throughout the city. To us, home teams are financially responsible.
