Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child is a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse, designed to reach boys and girls across the globe with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This is accomplished by distributing shoe boxes filled with toys, personal care items, candy, etc. Along with the distribution of the shoeboxes, the Gospel message is shared with children and adults who have never heard of Jesus. For many children, this will be the only gift they receive the entire year, the only time they may ever hear the Gospel.

We have set a goal of 100 shoe boxes this year. This includes filling a box with items deemed appropriate by Operation Christmas Child, and giving $7 per box to cover shipping costs. The final day to bring boxes is Wednesday, November 19, but you may drop your boxes off any time.

The Christian Dilemma of War Part 6

As we conclude this series, we need to ask if the just war theory is compatible with the New Testament. Does the New Testament call for Christian pacifism? If so, it would be strictly forbidden for a Christian to serve as a soldier or governmental official possessing the power of the sword.  However, the New Testament writers many times place soldiers and government officials in a positive light...
